Katie Garren's Public Relations Internship
PUBR 4080
All Public Relations majors at ETSU are required to have an internship. I decided to complete mine with the American Cancer Society. I chose to apply for this internship for several reasons. First, and most importantly, because I felt that it would give me the best experience for the kind of work I would like to do in the future. Secondly, we have dealt with cancer in my immediate family recently and so this opportunity stuck out to me more than the others.
At the American Cancer Society, I was in charge of publicizing events, marketing for events, office tasks, etc. I began my internship in late May and I finished in late July with 127 hours logged.
This site is a portfolio of my internship. On here you will be able to find a record and example of all the projects I worked on during my time, journals of how I felt my job was going through out the time served, my hours worked chart, press releases and other materials I wrote, and my term paper for the ETSU Internship class.
I hope you enjoy this site and have fun learning about my wonderful experience with the American Cancer Society.
